Zac Amendolia is a San Francisco based artist, tattooer, sculptor, and one man toy factory. His work is inspired by vintage dimestore toys, carnivals, folk art from all over the world, and traditional tattooing. Zac’s sculpture and toy work focuses on recreating the spirit and aesthetic of vintage mass produced toys through painstaking handmade processes. Everything from concept sketches, sculpts, mold making, various methods/materials of production to packaging, advertisement and finally shipping is carried out singlehanded by the artist. His tattoo and 2D works are created in a unique style, heavily informed by American Traditional tattooing. Zac has traveled all over the United States with his Tattoo Shooting Gallery, a carnival style game he developed that invites participants to shoot a suction cup pistol at a wall of ever rotating original designs. He also travels often for his toy work and has participated in conventions like Designercon, Monsterpalooza, Son Of Monsterpalooza and Five Points Fest. Most recently Zac has been focusing on sustainability and eliminating single-use plastic in waste streams by single-handedly recycling plastic to create his toys.
